Shoot: Cargo Ship Pallas Oil Spill in Germany

Cargo ship ‘Pallas’ burned near the German North Sea coast in 1998. The ‘Pallas’ lost about 244 tonnes of fuel oil and oil sludge and the environmental consequences were enormous; 26,000 birds were oiled of which at least 16,000 died . For two weeks no one started any cleaning operation.
