'Mountains and Rooftops' Arctic Sanctuary Action on Alp Oberbärgli
Swiss singer Christine Lauterburg performs an "Arctic Blessing," on Alp Oberbärgli. Tradition states that mountain people stand on top of the Alp and sing an "Alp blessing" from one alp to the other. With this "Arctic Blessing" the singer is asking to protect the Arctic from oil drilling.
As international polling reveals that 74% of people worldwide support the creation of a protected sanctuary in the international waters surrounding the North Pole; climbers and mountaineers are ascending iconic mountain peaks and buildings all over the world, to demand that governments respond to the global outcry.

The text of her singing is:
Ave, Ave Arctic
May there be peace for the eternal ice.
May the Arctic be protected
From now on, up to eternity
Polar bear and whale, Inuit and land
The arctic may be honored by mankind.
Ave, Ave Arctic
Protect us from storm and war.
Oppose the exploitation by Gazprom and Shell. Your ice is unique.
So are your beasts and man into eternity
