Action to Demand Strong Measures to Protect Ancient Forests in Romania
A Greenpeace Romania team visits the Romanian Minister of Environment, Mrs. Cristiana Pașca-Palmer, and brings a message on behalf of more than 20.000 people from all around the world about the need to act firmly and urgently in order to protect the last remaining ancient forests in Romania.
Greenpeace is demanding that the Romanian Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests impose a moratorium on any kind of interventions in ancient and old-growth forests, to urgently initiate and coordinate a national inventory project of all ancient and old-growth forests that are left in Romania and to urgently register all forests identified as potential nomination areas for the World Heritage List in the National Catalogue of ancient and old-growth forests.
