An activist on a paraglider protests with a flying banner. On 11 March 2021, the ECB will host a Council meeting chaired by Christine Lagarde with members of the Executive Board and the presidents of the European central banks. The activists warn that the climate crisis also endangers price stability. They demand that the ECB finally align its monetary policy with climate protection. "The ECB is stalling. It should quickly present a strategy for dealing with the climate crisis in monetary policy, but those responsible remain vague," says Mauricio Vargas, financial expert at Greenpeace. "They are allowing their monetary policy to continue to favour climate-damaging companies."In original language:Bannerflug für eine Grüne Geldpolitik in Frankfurt am Main„Act on climate now“ fordern Greenpeace-Aktivist:innen am Sitz der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) in Frankfurt. „Sie lassen zu, dass ihre Geldpolitik weiterhin klimaschädliche Unternehmen begünstigt.“Locations:Europe-Frankfurt-Germany-Hesse-Western EuropeDate:10 Mar, 2021Credit:© Bernd Hartung / GreenpeaceMaximum size:2999px X 1999pxKeywords:Actions and protests-Activists-Banks-Banners-Buildings-Climate (campaign title)-Day-Financial concepts-KWCI (GPI)-Office buildings-Outdoors-Paragliding-Towers-Urban areasShoot:Banner Flight for a Green Monetary Policy in Frankfurt am MainGreenpeace activists demand "Act on climate now" at the headquarters of the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt.
