Boreal Forest "Stop" Banner Action - Broadback Valley, Quebec (3 of 9)
The Broadback Valley, ancestral territory of the Cree Nation of Waswanipi, is one of the last large intact forests of Quebec, Canada. The Waswanipi are fighting to protect of this important forest from logging. Woodland caribou are a species threatened with extinction that need thousands of square kilometres of uncut wilderness to survive.
Greenpeace activists and the Waswanipi Cree Nation write a gigantic message "stop" in English and Cree in a clearcut.
