Bushmeat in the Congo Basin
Various shots of dead animals being collected and handled. The Congo Basin contains a quarter of the world's tropical forest. It is a region of extraordinary biological richness and is home to an incredible diversity of plant and animal species. However, the Congo Basin Forest is being deforested at the rate of two million acres every year which has resulted in environmental changes such as lower rainfall, lower water yields from springs and streams, major floods and extreme sedimentation.
