Control of Shipwreck Pallas in Germany
Greenpeace activists and government officials visit the Pallas wreck after cleaning of the oil spill. Most of the oil is removed from the wreck and the tanks will be filled with a special fluid.

Greenpeace begutachtet mit Behoerdenvertretern das Wrack der "Pallas" nach den Reinigungs- und Sicherungsarbeiten. Die "Pallas" war am 29. Oktober 1998 vor Amrum havariert, dabei sind mehrere Tonnen Oel ins Wattenmeer geflossen. Das restliche Oel wurde weitgehend abgepumpt und die Tanks des Wracks wurden mit einem Spezialstoff versiegelt.

Cargo ship ‘Pallas’ burned near the German North Sea coast in 1998. The ‘Pallas’ lost about 90 tonnes of oil and the environmental consequences were enormous. Some 10,000 sea birds died in the accident.
