Demarcation Activity in the Philippines
A flotilla of local fishing boats, together with the Greenpeace ship MY Esperanza, form a symbolic line, as part of the activities organized in solidarity with the local communities, in the coastal waters off Donsol town, Sorsogon.
The flotilla demonstrates the communities’ demand for the strict enforcement of a ban on commercial fishing vessels operating within the 15 kilometer zone reserved for municipal fishermen.

Demarcation Activity in the Philippines
In solidarity with communities in Donsol town, Sorsogon, around 540 kilometers south of Manila, Greenpeace joins the efforts to demonstrate the communities’ demand for the strict enforcement of the ban on commercial fishing vessels within the 15 kilometer zone reserved for municipal fishers. The ship, on her Philippine leg of the “Ocean Defenders Tour of South East Asia 2013”, will tell the story of the richness and the beauty of the Philippine seas, expose destruction that causes marine degradation and call for urgent government action to protect its rich biodiversity.
