Demonstration for Biodiversity in Hamburg

Passersby write the names of species threatened with extinction on a Banner. Greenpeace activists demonstrate at Jungfernstieg in Hamburg for stronger global actions against a mass extinction. They have set up a 50-meter-long red list with the names of endangered species and hold banners that read "OHNE ARTENVIELFALT STIRBT DER MENSCH!" (Man dies without biodiversity) und "MEHR ALS 32000 ARTEN SIND VOM AUSSTERBEN BEDROHT" (More than 32000 species are threatened with extinction). The activists demonstrate the day before the UN Biodiversity Summit, which is taking place on the sidelines of the UN general debate in New York.
