In order to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius, the consumption of meat must drop by at least 50 percent in 2050. Other animal products such as eggs and milk must also be reduced. Instead, the share of fruit and vegetables must rise significantly. Then not only the meat but also the grain and vegetable requirements could be covered ecologically. The current enormous amount of food waste could then also be halved. Image shows various fruit and vegetables, (potatoes, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, onions, tomatoes, capsicum, zuccini, parsnip, leek, apples, pears, bananas, oranges and grapes) pasta, bread, cheese, oil and milk, eggs, meat and sausages.
