Karabash – One of the Dirtiest Cities on the Planet (B-Roll)
The city of Karabash (Russia, Chelyabinsk region) is one of the dirtiest cities on the planet due to the production of copper from copper ore. The factories in Karabash have been operating for 90 years, the last of which was shut down in 1989. In the production of copper from copper ore, a large amount of harmful substances is formed, mainly gases, such as the fumes of lead, sulfur, arsenic and, in fact, copper. These gases were released unimpeded into the atmosphere and were not purified.
