Kyoto Protocol Celebration in Pulupandan
Schoolchildren from Pulupandan paint their faces beside solar panels at a rice field where the community has successfully rejected a coal power plant project planned for the site. There are now plans to build a wind farm that will become source for clean renewable energy for the island. This is part of a series of events to mark the coming into force of the Kyoto protocol agreement as from today.
