Radiation levels found by the Greenpeace monitoring team are far above internationally recommended limits. People living here would receive the yearly maximum dose of radioactivity within a few days, yet have not yet been evacuated. The Greenpeace team is continuing to monitor locations around the Fukushima evacuation area in order to assess the true extent of radiation risks to the local population.Locations:East Asia-Fukushima Prefecture-Iitate-JapanDate:27 Mar, 2011Credit:© Christian Åslund / GreenpeaceMaximum size:4256px X 2832pxKeywords:Close ups-Day-Disasters-Earthquakes-Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant-Gloves-Greenpeace campaigners-Hands-KWCI (GPI)-Masks (protective)-Measuring tools-Nuclear (campaign title)-Nuclear accidents-Nuclear energy-Nuclear radiation-One person-Outdoors-Protective clothing-Radiation effects-Radiation measurement-Radiation measurement tools-Research-Roads-TEPCOShoot:Japanese Nuclear DisasterA Greenpeace team on the ground in Japan monitors radiation levels near the crisis-stricken Fukushima/Daiichi nuclear plant, and documents the devastating affects on the local population and environment.Related Collections:Japanese Nuclear Disaster (Full Selection) (Photos & Videos)Year In Pictures: 2011 (Photo & Videos)Images For 'Shadowlands' Slideshow (All Photographers)2nd Anniversary of Fukushima Disaster Feature (All Photographers)Greenpeace 40th Anniversary Exhibition Images (All Photographers)
