Oceans Tour Marine Reserves (Waddenzee 2009 Texel)
Greenpeace advocates for marine reserves to give the over-fished area's the chance to recover. The Waddenzee is threatened by harmful activities like overfishing, oil and gas extraction. In June and July Greenpeace anchored a lightship on the Wadden Sea near Terschelling and Texel where a small exhibition has been set up. Discussion meetings are organized with scientists, fishermen and students and the general public is given the opportunity to come to the ship with a regular shuttle service.
