Protest Against Bee-Killing Pesticides in Germany
Activists in Munich are holding protests at gardening centers in Hagebau to demand they stop selling bee-harming plants and to eliminate bee-killing pesticides from their products and supply chains. The activity is part of an European Day of Action where around 1000 Greenpeace volunteers and activists in 110 cities (38 in Germany) across Europe spotlight the crucial role of bees and other pollinators for agriculture and global food production.

Gegen den Einsatz von Pestiziden bei Zierpflanzen protestieren Greenpeace-Aktivisten in 38 Staedten ( hier Muenchen) vor Filialen großer Baumarktketten wie hier Hagebau. Sie halten vor Maerkten mannshohe Blumen-Schilder und versehen Pflanzen mit Etiketten, auf denen steht: “Pestizide gefaehrden Bienen!“ Passanten sind eingeladen, eine Protestpostkarte direkt in den Maerkten abzugeben.

Activists in 38 German cities are holding protests at gardening centers including Bauhaus, Obi and Toom to demand they stop selling bee-harming plants and to eliminate bee-killing pesticides from their products and supply chains. The activity is part of an European Day of Action where around 1000 Greenpeace volunteers and activists in 110 cities across Europe spotlight the crucial role of bees and other pollinators for agriculture and global food production. Activities are taking place from Hamburg to Rome and from Sofia to Malaga. They include protests at gardening centers that are still selling bee-harming products, collecting signatures for political petitions, colourful street markets, to concerts with celebrity bands and educational events in public parks with organic flower-planting as well as vibrant bee-dances.
Activities are taking place in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.
