Protest against Dumping of Brent Spar at Shell Headquarters
Action at the head office of Shell in the Hague against Shell's plan to dump oil platform Brent Spar in the North Sea.
Greenpeace activists blocked the entrance to the head office of Shell and put up big banners. The banner reads: "Als het aan Herkströter ligt is dit straks nog de enige schelp in de Noordzee" which translates into: "If it is up to Herkströter this will be the only shell left in the North Sea."
Herkströter was head of Royal Dutch Shell company.

Actie bij het hoofdkantoor van Shell in Den Haag tegen het plan om olieplatform Brent Spar te dumpen in de Noordzee.
Activisten blokkerden de ingang tot het Shell kantoor en hingen een groot spandoek op, gericht op Shell-topman Herkströter. "Als het aan Herkströter ligt is dit straks nog de enige schelp in de Noordzee".
Twee dagen later zag Shell af van het plan de Brent Spar te laten zinken.
