Protestival 14 & 15 December at Schiphol in the Netherlands
With an event called "Protestival" Greenpeace Netherlands takes the stage in Schiphol Airport, the largest tax-free gas station in the Netherlands.
Schiphol is responsible for 13.6 megatons of CO2 emissions per year, which is almost as much as the emissions released by all Dutch cars together each year.
Hundreds of activists come to the airport to demand a climate action plan for Schiphol. In the heart of the airport, activists have hung up banners with the text: "Welcome to Protestival" and "Schiphol is flying ahead of all climate limits."
