Greenpeace activists in shark costumes protest against Mareblu in front of its office in Milan. Mareblu, Italian brand of Thai Union, a Thailand-based producer of seafood-based food products, fell at the bottom of the recent Italian tuna ranking as currently only 0,2% is sourced from pole and line practices, while the company promised 100% sustainable caught tuna by 2016. Mareblu is “#NotJustTuna” as most of its tuna comes from destructive purse seining fishing on FADs (Fish Aggregating Device), a fishing method that catches juvenile tuna, sharks and turtles.
