Soya Silo in Barreiras, Bahia State, Brazil

A type of plastic silo for grain storage in the field, in the middle of an industrial scale soybean plantation in the "Ring of Soy", which also includes the city of Luis Eduardo Magalhães, in Bahia state. Brazil is the largest exporter of soybeans in the world. Soybean cultivation has accelerated the deforestation of Brazilian biomes such as the Cerrado.

Ground expedition through the “Ring of Soy”, which holds several farms, storage, processing and distribution centers in the cities of Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Riachão das Neves, Formosa do Rio Preto and Barreiras, Bahia state, in the Cerrado of Brazil.
The Cerrado is a vast tropical savanna ecoregion of Brazil, particularly in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Tocantins and Minas Gerais. The Cerrado biome core areas are the plateaus in the center of Brazil. The main habitat types of the Cerrado include: forest savanna, wooded savanna, park savanna and gramineous-woody savanna.
