People wear face masks to protect themselves from the smog while commuting in Bangkok.
According to the Pollution Control Department (PCD), today's air pollution index in 20 areas in Bangkok and suburbs reached “unhealthy” levels with 56-103 micrograms per cubic metre and reached 55-96 micrograms per cubic metre in other 24 areas which surpassed recommended level. People with respiratory diseases are warned to avoid prolonged outdoor exposure.
