Traditional Nenets Tents in Russian Tundra
The Nenets are indigenous people in Northwest Siberia, Russia. They lead nomadic lives and relocate with their reindeer approximately every week. These chums (tents) are located near the road built by the Russian company Gazprom which is producing gas in the region. A Greenpeace Russia team is in the area to investigate the impact of gas exploration on indigenous life and the impact of climate change on the Russian Arctic.
