Tsunami Disaster Relief Operation MSF in Indonesia
Humanitarian and medical aid organised by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) being loaded onto the Greenpeace flagship, Rainbow Warrior II at Krueng Raya, Sumatra, Indonesia. Shipment of medical supplies and food are destined for Meulaboh on the west coast of Aceh province. Shipments by sea are essential since most of the west coast of Aceh is not accessible by road. The areas are severely damaged by the tsunami disaster the 26th of December 2004. More than 50 per cent of the population in Meulaboh died and is in desperate need of medication for the injured. The risk of infection and epidemics are high.
