iCloud Action In Apple Store In Johannesburg
Apple employees remove balloons, after Greenpeace activists inside the Sandton iStore release black balloons symbolizing electricity produced by coal fired power stations. The activity is part of a global day of action at Apple stores around the world. Greenpeace played off Apple’s “genius bars” by setting up their own “Supergenius bars," where people were encouraged to take part in the campaign. Greenpeace is calling on Apple to power its massive data centres with renewable energy instead of coal.

iCloud Action at Apple Store in Johannesburg
Greenpeace activists protest at the Sandton iStore. Apple customers joined activities at stores around the world this weekend, to ask Apple for a cleaner cloud. As part of our campaign to get the company to power its massive data centres with renewable energy instead of coal, Greenpeace activists played off Apple’s “genius bar” by setting up their own “Supergenius bars” where people were encouraged to take part in the campaign and share it with their friends.
