Essen, 19.06.2019: Several dozens of Greenpeace activists demonstrated for a prompt coal phase-out in front of energy company RWE headquarters’ on Tuesday. They hung up banners at the façade of the building saying: “Stop coal now! Forest and villages stay!” and set up a climate protection container at the main entrance. With a siren the “climate-alarm” kicked off. RWE threatens the water supply of the Hambach Forest with its coal mining and pushes the destruction of the surrounding villages. Essen, 19.06.2019: Mehrere Dutzend Aktivisten der Umweltschutzorganisation Greenpeace haben am Dienstag vor der Zentrale des RWE-Konzerns in Essen für ein sofortiges Aussetzen des Kohleabbaus demonstriert. Sie befestigten Transparente mit der Aufschrift »Kohle abschalten jetzt! Wald und Dörfer bleiben!« an der Fassade und stellten einen Klimaschutz-Container vor dem Haupteingang auf. Mit einer schrillen Sirene wurde der ""Klima-Alarm"" ausgelöst. Mit dem Kohleabbau gefährde RWE die Wasserversorgung des Hambacher Waldes und treibe die Zerstörung umliegender Dörfer voran.
