Bearing Witness to the Deep Sea Mining Industry in the Pacific

Normand Energy is chartered by Global Sea Mineral Resources (GSR), a subsidiary of the Belgian company DEME, in the Pacific Ocean. The company is currently testing mining gear with the aim of future commercial extraction of minerals from the seabed.
The Greenpeace ship, Rainbow Warrior is in the Clarion Clipperton Zone in the Pacific to bear witness to the deep sea mining industry. Part of the ongoing 'Protect the Oceans' campaign.
