Rescued Turtle after Oil Spill in Israel
Members of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority are working hard to help the young sea turtle that were affected by the tar oil from the spill in the Mediterranean sea.
The disaster on 17 February washed up vast quantities of tar balls from crude oil over 170 km (106 miles) of shoreline, approximately 40% of Israel’s Mediterranean coast. Animals including birds and sea turtles were covered with tar.
