Climate March in Paris - News Access
A "Climate and Resilience” bill is examining in France. Over 100,000 people took to the streets in over 180 demonstrations all over the country, demanding from Emmanuel Macron and the French parliament an ambitious climate law respecting the Paris Agreement and capable of meeting the challenges at hand. As it stands, the text is totally inconsistent with the recommendations made by the Citizens’ Convention for Climate and not aligned with the new European greenhouse gas emissions reduction objective (-55% by 2030). When called to vote on whether the current executive decisions could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030, compared to 1990, members of the Citizen’s Climate Convention (CCC) awarded, this Sunday, the final score of 2.5 / 10 to the French government.
