On the occasion of the G7 Summit in Elmau, 10 Greenpeace activists protested at the Waxenstein near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A mountain bonfire in the shape of a peace sign with a diameter of 60 meters lit on the slope. On banners they demanded: "G7: Exit Fossils, Enter Peace" and "G7: Stop Gas, Oil and Coal Now". Images formed from fire in the mountain peaks are a tradition in the Alpine region for the summer solstice, dating back to the Middle Ages.

Anlässlich des G7-Gipfels in Elmau protestierten 10 Greenpeace-Aktivisten auf dem Waxenstein bei Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Am Hang brannte ein Bergfeuer in Form eines Friedenszeichens mit einem Durchmesser von 60 Metern. Auf Transparenten forderten sie: "G7: Exit Fossils, Enter Peace" und "G7: Stop Gas, Oil and Coal Now". Aus Feuer geformte Bilder auf den Berggipfeln sind im Alpenraum eine Tradition zur Sommersonnenwende, die bis ins Mittelalter zurückreicht.
