Action on Waste Management Bill in Croatia
The Croatian Parliament was debating the Waste Management Bill that transposes parts of the EU Single-Use Plastic Directive, as well as the ban on lightweight plastic bags, demanded via Greenpeace Croatia petition signed by 65k supporters. The demand aimed at the Parliament and the Government was to pass a more ambitious and less ambiguous law. An 8-metre prop of a whale washed up on a pile of discarded single-use plastics on the famous Stiniva beach on the island of Vis was there to join the appeal. The demands were co-signed by 7 NGOs working on the plastic issue in Croatia.
