High Concentration of Radionuclides Released Since the 1990s from Wolsong Unit 1 in Korea
At the end of Aug, the Nuke campaign team visited the Wolsong NPP, in Kyung-Ju, the southern part of the country, and delivered our message to inform the untold truth; unplanned Tritium and Cesium137 release from the Spent Fuel Bay of unit 1 is happening for more than 2 decades. NSSC (the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission) and KHNP (Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power) must have known it from the past, but have not taken any urgent action yet. Seoul Nuke team will utilize this momentum to promote the failure of the regulations and system for Nuclear safety management in Korea.
