Dead sharks are hauled on board the purse seine fishing vessel, 'Purple Lilac 888' . This vessel is owned by Frabelle Fishing Corporation of the Philippines. Frabelle has committed to shifting part of their operations to the more sustainable 'free school', or 'FAD-free' fishing. Greenpeace is in the Western and Central Pacific ocean on the 'Defending Our Pacific' expedition to campaign for the establishment of a network of marine reserves and an end to overfishing.
