'Arctic 30' Leave Russia
From left, Greenpeace International activists, Ana Paula Alminhana Maciel (Brazil) and Gizem Akhan (Turkey) leave for the departure lounge at Saint Petersburg airport. They are bound for home after receiving their exit visas from the Federal Migration Service to allow them to leave Russia.
The Duma has officially adopted an amendment that extends an amnesty decree to defendants who have been charged with hooliganism. It therefore includes the Arctic 30 (28 activists and two freelance journalists) who were arrested, following a peaceful protest at a Gazprom-operated Arctic oil platform.
