Australia’s labelling laws for seafood are inadequate, especially as they apply to restaurants. Without labelling, consumers may unwittingly make unhealthy choices and support damage to the marine environment and unfair working conditions. To make an informed choice, consumers need to know what fish they’re eating, where it came from, and how it was caught or farmed. These two confused fish have found themselves at the heart of the problem.
