In front of the Nigerian embassy, Greenpeace protests with a memorial guard against the execution of the Nigerian opposition leader and Ogoni spokesperson Ken Saro Wiwa and 8 other environmental activists by Nigeria. Saro-Wiwa had been campaigning against Shell oil's pollution of the Ogoni region.



The Banner reads:"Killed by the Nigerian State - Ken Saro Wiwa and eight other environmental activists. Also responsible oilcompanies Agip, Elf, Shell".

Ken Saro Wiwa kaempfte gegen die katastrophale Umweltzerstoerung des Ogoni-Landes durch die Oelfoerderung der "Shell". Auf dem Banner steht:"Ermordet vom nigerianischen Staat - Ken Saro Wiwa und acht weitere Umweltschuetzer. Mitverantwortlich die Oelmultis Agip, Elf, Shell".
