Local Farmer in Rice Field in Philippines
Rice grains did not reach its maturity due to insufficient irrigation water and intense heat due to prolonged drought brought by El Niño phenomenon in MLang, North Cotabato.
Greenpeace is asking the government to provide a short and long term support to farmers affected by El Niño and to provide support to farmers transitioning from conventional to ecological farming system. Also to implement programs or long-term solutions that will respond to the effects and impacts of climate change and will address food security concerns
