E-ZombieWalk Action on E-Waste Impact in Mexico
With a semi-circular banner containing the message: "Breaking News: eZombie Invasion" Greenpeace Mexico activists alongside citizens from the city of Manzanillo called on the Ministry of Communications and Transport to put into place a clear plan to manage the more than 40 million analogue TVs that could be thrown away during the transition to digital TV.
More than 80 families, children and locals joined Greenpeace Mexico activists on an eZombieWalk from the tourist pier to the iconic "Pez Vela" statue, designed by renowned sculptor Sebastian .
Meanwhile volunteers in more than 10 cities across the country also organised simultaneous eZombieWalks to raise awareness about the impact of e-waste in Mexico.
