The Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility is seen in the hills above luxury gated houses in a community under construction. A months-long massive gas leak at the facility has forced thousands of residents of the Porter Ranch neighbourhood in Los Angeles away from their homes and forced California Gov. Jerry Brown to declare a state of emergency.
