Penguin Ice Sculptures in Seoul
Greenpeace display seventy ice penguin sculptures in Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, from 7-9th February 2020 as part of a global day of action calling for the creation of ocean sanctuaries.
Greenpeace volunteers place 'disappearing penguin' ice sculptures in major cities around the world. To call on world governments to support the IGC4 (Intergovernmental Conference on Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction), negotiations, held at the United Nations, for a Global Treaty and the protection of the Oceans. That 30% of global oceans are protected under a network of sanctuaries by 2030.
