Man Bathing in Hasdeo River in Chhattisgarh
Resident of Charpara taking his morning bath in the polluted river, Korba district, Chhattisgarh. The river is polluted by ash fly and so is the air. Residents of Charpara were relocated here by NTPC. NTPC told them they will take care of the villagers but unfortunately it did not happen.
Villagers suffer from fly ash in summer months, their houses are covered with ash and villagers have breathing and skin infections. Unfortunately residents are not aware of the health hazards of SO2 & NO2 emission from the TPP. Their only concern is what is visible in summer months, which is fly ash and it is poisoning the air, water and land in areas close to the power plants.
Charpara, Korba district, Chhattisgarh, India, 2017.
