Greenpeace activists protest in front of the Ministry of Agriculture with banners and an inflatable pig in Berlin. The environmental activists demand that the Minister of Agriculture Julia Kloeckner develops a more effective political strategy for higher standards in livestock farming and better labels for meat in discussions with delegates from the food industry.
Consumers are kept in the dark in many supermarkets, due to a lack of labels and information about the actual source of meat sold.
The banner reads: 'Where animal suffering is involved, animal suffering must be mentioned, Ms Kloeckner!'
