Greenpeace youth groups, JAGs, protest at the Zeche Zollverein against coal power. The environmental activists raise demands to drastically change energy policies to quit relying on coal and favor renewables instead. Members of JAGs display a banner in front of the winding tower of shaft 12, that reads: "Coal has become a museum piece".
The Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex is a large former industrial site in the city of Essen and part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
