Protest against Nuclear Power Plant Paks 2 in Budapest
Dozens of kayaktivists floated a huge inflatable “nuclear waste barrel” along the Danube in Budapest to draw attention to the severe problem of nuclear waste. While Hungary is planning to build a new nuclear power plant, Paks II., the issue of nuclear waste is still unresolved. Greenpeace Hungary, together with 25,000 people who have already signed the stoppaks2.hu petition, calls upon the Hungarian government to immediately stop the reckless construction of Paks II when there is no solution to the long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel.
