The Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior with a banner reading "Marine Reserves Now!" is next to cages holding bluefin tuna during a protest to demand immediate action to protect the endangered Mediterranean bluefin tuna from commercial extinction. The Rainbow Warrior has been touring the Mediterranean highlighting the threats to the sea and carrying out scientific research to support and strengthen the proposal for a network of marine reserves.
