In the lead up to the second anniversary of the Fukushima meltdowns, Greenpeace is calling for reactor operators and their suppliers, such as Hitachi, GE and Toshiba, to be held fully responsible for potential nuclear accidents.

Greenpeace–Aktivisten protestieren an der Europazentrale von Hitachi-Power für ein verschaerftes Haftungsrecht bei Atomunfaellen. Die Umweltschuetzer beschriften die Fassade mit der Botschaft „Don´t let Hitachi walk away from the Fukushima disaster“ (sinngemaess: Hitachi muss Verantwortung für Fukushima uebernehmen). Das Problem: Hersteller und Zulieferer von Atomkraftwerken sind, im Gegensatz zu anderen Industriesektoren, von jeglicher Haftung ausgenommen.
