Margiris Trawler Blockade in IJmuiden
Greenpeace activists prevent Europe's largest fishing PFA vessel, the 'Margiris KL749, a Dutch owned super trawler sailing under Lithuanian flag from leaving IJmuiden port. The activists occupy the anchor chain and stay there for almost one week. They hang two banners at the ship reading "STOP exporting overcapacity!" and "The sea gives the Margiris plunders". These ships catch such enormous amounts of fish that the local fishery community in the countries of where they fish close by get into problems.
UPDATE: In late 2012, the Margiris was renamed 'Abel Tasman.'
