Greenpeace activists protest at the air base Buechel in Rhineland-Palatinate for the withdrawal of all US American nuclear weapons from Germany. The banner on a hot air balloon reads: ”Atomwaffen abschaffen – ban nuclear weapons!". The balloon is placed in front of the premises, where about 20 US American nuclear bombs are stored. A banner below the balloon reads: ”Hiroshima-never again!”.

Germany is part of the concept of nuclear sharing. That means in the event of war, German pilots are to take the US nuclear bombs to their destination.
