Greenpeace Taiwan and National Cheng Kung University co-published a research report that investigates how major supermarket products contribute to the plastics footprint, and shows the benefit for supermarkets if they cut plastics use. The report indicates that if supermarkets commit to reduce plastics, the amount of plastics saved outweighs the benefits brought by more than 16,000 beach cleanups. Greenpeace Taiwan also invited consumer groups and legislators to the press conference and urged the government to regulate plastics packaging especially on fruits and vegetables.
