Typhoon Bopha (named ‘Pablo’ in the Philippines) has hit the country pounding central and southern Philippines and has left a trail of death and destruction. Officials say that it has so far killed more than 100 people and affected 120,000. Bopha is merely the latest typhoon to batter the archipelago, which is threatened by around 19 typhoons yearly. Last year, Typhoon Washi (Sendong) killed around 1,300 people and left USD 48.4 million in damages.
